In his role as CPO, Willem Van Lancker leads a diverse team—including designers, writers, customer experience associates and editors—all focused on making sure that readers have the best possible experience on Oyster.
Previously, Willem was a product designer at Google, where he contributed to the vision and design of Google Maps. As a designer at IDEO, he worked with global brands on human-centered design.
Before that, he designed at Apple and worked on branding for MLS and NHL teams at adidas. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. Willem was also a professional sailor and US Coast Guard licensed captain. He dreams of living on a sailboat in NYC.
