Ternary Capital believes in the convergence of Traditional Finance with Decentralized Finance (DeFi) as well as an emergence of crypto-native infrastructure business models unique to Web3.

Public networks evolved in three distinct stages, from telephony to Web2 and most recently Web3. Each of these resulted in a large socio-economic shift for its participants and society as a whole. Each of these three stages required an own specialized form of infrastructure.

Due to the decentralized nature of Web3, its infrastructure is multifaceted. It can be split into:

Financial – capital and liquidity

Technological – nodes/validators and supply-side services like mining, transcoding, ZK compute

Community – governance, global representation, project ties and memes

These individual forms of infrastructure need to be focused on and bootstrapped depending on where a project and its network are in their lifecycle.

DeFi is eating Finance. Majority of the services TradFi players have historically provided are shifting to become the core business of tech companies. This concerns everything from custody to yield generation via staking, yield farming and generalized mining. Traditional players are thus increasingly unable to provide value to these decentralized networks due to incentive misalignment as well as most of the forms of network bootstrapping not being their core business.

We want to address this gap by providing value across all types of infrastructure as well as alongside the project lifecycle.
