The SIM Project proposes a decentralized solution to long-standing issues in IAM. By design, the SIM ecosystem will improve transactional efficiency, but also enable individuals full access control over their personal data for the first time. A self-soveriegn identity protocol gives users the option to protect sensitive information. For service providers, storing data on the SIM blockchain lowers data storage and know-your-client costs, and removes the liability of possessing user data.
