Get on-demand access to managed blockchain node infrastructure from service providers around the world via the ODIN API marketplace.

Data is finally free. Anyone can run a blockchain node and get access to the full capabilities of the distributed web. There are no more gatekeepers. 

However, it is still costly and time-consuming to manage node infrastructure. Developers time would be better spent building applications, so they rely on centralised companies that specialise in managing node infrastructure. 

So while anyone can theoretically access the distributed web, most traffic still goes through just a few centralised providers. This is not only problematic, because these companies become central points of failure, but also leads to a similar monopoly dynamic to the one we see in centralised cloud providers. The companies with the most resources have the greatest capacity to provide services allowing them to be the only ones who can serve larger and larger customers, resulting in even more centralisation. In this monopoly position there is little pessure for competitive pricing.

We want to change this.

As access is free and anyone with the necessary expertise can run a node, it is now possible for us to create competitive markets for blockchain web services. Service providers can compete for your traffic, bringing prices down and service quality up, which is great for developers. 

This is also good for service providers. They no longer need to focus on sales and marketing, but instead can focus exclusively on what they do best: managing node infrastructure. This will decrease their operational costs and allow them to lower prices while remaining profitable.

This is what ODIN aims to do. The ODIN marketplace brings together developers and a distributed community of service providers in a competitive market for blockchain web services.
