Matt Hussey is Editorial Director at NEAR Foundation, an award-winning London based writer, editor, content creator and photographer. He tells stories in subjects as diverse as technology, lifestyle, blockchain, human interest and investigative pieces including dementia, and bare-knuckle fighting.
Currently I head up NEAR Protocol's content strategy. NEAR is a new type of cryptocurrency that's designed to make building, learning and creating in crypto as simple as using the web. My role is to help accelerate this strategy.
Previously I was the co-founder of Decrypt, a new media platform backed by ConsenSys. We produced simple, easy to understand news, features, interviews, and content that all help to accelerate people's understanding and adoption of blockchain.
I also work on a freelance basis for a number of companies and publications helping them tell better stories as both a content strategist and content creator.
Over the past 15 years, I have written for The Daily Telegraph, Yahoo, TechCrunch, Huffington Post, GQ, Wired, Men's Health and ShortList.
I've also occupied senior editorial roles in a number of prestigious online publications. I was previously the Editor-in-Chief of The Next Web - a technology website with more than 10 million page impressions a month. Here I oversaw all editorial on the site, developed relationships with publishers and bloggers, and wrote daily and weekly stories on the day's big tech themes. I grew audience numbers by 30% in nine months, created more efficient workflows and defined a tone-of-voice that was previously lacking.
As a content strategist and content creator, I have worked on campaigns for a number of major brands including Adidas, Diesel, Wikipedia and HSBC.
As a photographer I've had my work published in The Daily Mail, The Metro, Huffington Post and more. I have worked with Uber, Nestle and Absolut Vodka brands.
