Laura Gaviria Halaby as part of SoftBank Latin America Operating Group, a US$8 billion fund dedicated to the region, focuses on delivering operational support to portfolio companies in order to accelerate growth as head of knowledge, strategic partnerships and crypto value creation. Laura is a member of the Fintech / Crypto Action Board for the City of Miami; is an angel investor and and active mentor for early stage startups and also serves at the Board of Banco Sol in Bolivia.
Prior to joining SoftBank, she was the Global Head of Fintech Acceleration for Citibank where she accelerated the implementation and launch of new digital products leveraging open innovation. She also supported tech startups scale as Chief Acceleration Officer at The Venture City and Entrepreneur in residence at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Laura holds a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics from American University and an MBA from MIT.
