Kevin Lu is Data scientist at Coin Metrics. Former analyst at BridgeWater. Interested in cryptocurrencies and systematic, quantitative, and algorithmic investing.

I have extensive experience working with data in investment management with strong domain expertise in cryptocurrencies and systematic global macro investing. My focus is on quantitative research, building critical infrastructure elements along the entire data and systematic investing pipeline, and developing trading systems.

Previously worked as an analyst at Bridgewater Associates responsible for producing Bridgewater's Daily Observations, the firm's flagship research publication that is sent to 10,000 clients, including global leading institutional investors and policymakers. Also worked on the data team within the research department to create, transform, and deliver economic data used in trading systems for signal generation.

Experienced in using R in all steps of the data science and data engineering workflow, including authoring API clients, creating data pipelines, provisioning cloud compute and database services, wrangling data, creating visualizations, conducting exploratory research, modeling using machine learning and statistical techniques, communicating results using principles of reproducible research, creating web applications and visualization tools, and deploying models into production. Authored multiple R packages used internally.

I am interested in opportunities in investment management where I can use applications of data science.
