Erwin (Torreao) Dassen is a cryptography expert having done his PhD in mathematics and subsequent post-doc in lattice-based cryptography.
As EVM Networks team lead I am responsible for managing all aspects of onboarding, maintaining and off boarding blockchains networks we decide to support. As member of the ventures team I provide technology reviews and due diligence on potential protocols we consider investing in.
As VP of Engineering at Plotwise, I was responsible for the design and architecture of our products and technology stack. The company is focused on delivery planning as a service. This entails multiple complex mathematical problems which have to be solved with speed and scalability in mind. In this capacity I acquired thorough experience in the startup environment and managing small to mid-size teams. You can expect from me a goal-oriented managing style where I match the best technology with the problem at hand. To accomplish my tasks I developed a broad set of skills to the level where I am comfortable with leading cross-functional teams.
From the knowledge field perspective I am a mathematician by training with expertise in modelling and stochastic modelling, graph theory, control theory, algorithm design and cryptography. I have experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, optimization and simulation.
From the tech-stack side I have expertise with Python, Cython, docker among others and experience with various Google Cloud platform components Kubernetes and Kafka.
As a PhD candidate I taught various courses and by doing so became good in conveying ideas and working with others. I'm eager to use my knowledge to help solve real-world problems and engage in challenging endeavors where mathematics plays a big role.
