Alex Svanevik is Chief Executive Officer at Nansen, Data Scientist in crypto land. Formerly, Co-founder of D5.

My mission is to create value from data. Blockchain is currently my main focus, as I believe on-chain will constitute the world's new financial fabric.

Some examples where I’ve created value from data in my career:

- Advised on what drives loyalty by analyzing customer data [Media, Insurance, E-commerce, Blockchain]
- Hired and led team of data scientists and engineers [Blockchain, Media]
- Launched data platform, architected and implemented from scratch [Blockchain]
- Built predictive models in order to accurately price risk [Insurance, Banking]
- Created roadmaps and governance models for aligning data & analytics initiatives with strategic goals [Retail, Media, Food Production]
- Segmented customers and users to inform improve decision-making [Internet, Advertising]

In my 10 years of work experience, I have taken on four quite different roles: data scientist, management consultant, entrepreneur, and manager. This combination has given me in-depth knowledge and skills within data analytics, as well as a thorough understanding of the bigger picture of running a business.

I always prefer working in international environments. Through projects in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Vietnam, Sweden, and Norway, I’ve learned to quickly adapt to (and enjoy!) different working cultures.
